Alison is a Litigation Executive and has recently joined MBH Solicitors. She is really pleased to be working back in her home town at such a well-known and respected town practice, after having started her career in Wigan almost 30 years ago.

Having started out as a junior fee earner in a multi-disciplinary practice where she covered all areas of Law. Alison went on to specialise in personal injury claims and has been head of Road Traffic Accident departments at two previous firms, where she has been responsible for a team of fee earners with over 2000 plus files in the department.

Alison has also worked in Defendant Counter Fraud Services specialising “crash for cash claims” and organised crime rings. This insight into fraud became a valuable asset in Alison’s career and she has taken on & succeeded in many cases involving allegations of fraud that other solicitors have refused to take on. The biggest case involved Alison acting on behalf of 11 Claimants who had been involved in an accident whilst travelling in two mini-buses. The claim was defended raising allegations of staged/contrived, phantom passenger allegations and low velocity impact. All 11 Claimant’s claims were successfully settled in full a matter of hours before trial, resulting in a large settlement.

Whilst personal injury is Alison’s speciality, she also has a background in debt recovery and general litigation involving contract/disputes. Alison has worked on over 200 cases per year and is supervised here at MBH Solicitors by Partner, Gillian Lavelle.

Alison takes great pride in her work and is very conscientious. She has made many friends in the profession over the years and is known for her hard working ethic. She credits her success rate in cases to the knowledge of when to back down and negotiate and when to push on, having analysed every aspect of the case.

Outside the office Alison is kept busy with her own business and her two sport mad boys. She spends most of her weekend watching her boys play Rugby League, Rugby Union & Football in all weathers and through her business she also gets involved in many community events. She enjoys spending time up in the Lake District having worked up there for many years and loves to get up there for a relax and re-charge.
